Nutcracker in the Lower: A Local Twist on a Classic

Rats, toy soldiers, and the Nutcracker ballet will never be the same. The Abrons Arts Center hosts Nutcracker in the Lower (November 28-December 5) for the ninth consecutive year. Exploding with daring and delight, the classic story of Clara and her magical adventures is tweaked to reflect Manhattan’s cultural diversity.

Malachi Farrell's The Shops Are Closed Opens

Celebrated for his kinetic installations of robotic figures employing familiar materials and sophisticated choreographies, Irish-born and Paris-based artist Malachi Farrell probes the political landscape with a shrewd wit and uncanny humor. The exhibit runs until January 31.
