The Abrons Arts Center presents the work of both emerging and acclaimed performers in dance, music, theater, and film on its three stages, including the famed 1915 landmarked Playhouse.

The Playhouse has welcomed such visionaries as Martha Graham, Orson Welles, Aaron Copland, John Cage, Alwin Nikolais, Twlya Tharp, Paul Taylor, and Bebe Miller. Continuing its tradition of bringing cutting-edge, avant-garde performers to the Lower East Side, Abrons has more recently hosted John Zorn, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, John Jasperse, Martin Creed, Karol Armitage, and Justin Bond.
