The Henry Street Settlement's successful commitment to the Lower East Side is further realized through affiliations with membership agencies the United Neighborhood Houses and the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies.

In addition, Henry Street partners with numerous organizations, corporations and universities throughout the year. These will be featured as Spotlights on a rotating basis.

	United Neighborhood Houses (UNH)

The UNH is an organization that provides strong leadership in advocating for the political and financial support of New York City's settlement houses. Through UNH, Henry Street has joined in settlement house collaborations that have attracted funding for arts, youth and homeless services. UNH played a key role in preventing cutbacks to the 2001 Summer Youth Employment Program, and has worked extensively to bring childcare resources to settlement house participants. Henry Street's Abrons Arts Center has played a leading role in UNH efforts to strengthen arts programming in settlements throughout the city.

	Federation Of Protestant Welfare Agencies (FPWA)

The FPWA is an umbrella organization of more than 260 member agencies serving 1.5 million disadvantaged people in the New York metropolitan area. The Federation helps its members upgrade and expand their services through management and technical assistance, education and training programs, volunteer recruitment, the awarding of grants, and group purchasing. It also develops and implements public policy initiatives at the national, state and local levels.
