Where are you located? On the Lower East Side of Manhattan at 40 Montgomery Street; on the corner of Montgomery Street and Madison Street in the LaGuardia Houses.
Who is eligible for services? Services are primarily provided to the Lower Manhattan community however anyone who wishes services may apply. Services to the monolingual Asian population are citywide due to the unavailability of these services in other boroughs.
How do you apply for services? Three Options:
- Call for an appointment at 212-233-5032 and ask for intake worker
- Walk-in
- Have an agency or your insurance carrier make a referral
What are the clinic hours? Monday and Wednesday 8:00 to 8:00 Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 8:00 to 4:00.
Do you have evening hours? Yes, Mondays and Wednesdays 8:00 to 8:00.
Do you charge for your service? Yes, Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, and commercial health insurance plans are accepted. Sliding scale fees are available for individuals not covered by health insurance.
Do you provide services in other languages besides English? Services are provided in English, Spanish, three dialects of Chinese, Italian, Sicilian, German, and Portuguese.
Do you do treatment in sign language? No, but we can make a referral to an appropriate facility.
Do you accept donations? Yes, please send your checks to Henry Street Settlement. We also accept donations online.
What can I expect when I visit the Parent Center? A Center team member will be available to greet you. When you come in, you will be given a tour of the Center and information on all resources and services.
When is the Parent Center open, and do I need an appointment? No, you can just drop in. The Parent Center is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. 3 p.m. We're also available some evenings.
Is there a fee for any of the services offered at the Parent Center? Do I need to bring income or insurance information? No. All services are free. We do not screen for income or insurance.
How do I become a member? Please fill out an information/enrollment form with your contact information, and answer a few questions that will help us to serve your needs.
What happens after I become a member? You are placed on our mailing list and will receive updates and information via mail or phone. You may continue to visit the Center whenever you like.
