CASE MANAGEMENT AND CLINICAL SERVICES

Henry Street Settlement's Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC), under the auspices of the Community Consultation Center (CCC), provides clients with a free comprehensive needs assessment to determine eligibility for benefits and programs. As a Single Stop site, NRC offers screenings for entitlement benefits, financial, health, legal, employment and family needs. NRC service coordinators advocate on a client's behalf when necessary and help them to negotiate bureaucracies. The NRC, in conjunction with Legal Services for New York City (LSNY), can provide free legal assistance for low-income individuals and families. The NRC also offers free on-site budget and credit counseling services through The Financial Clinic.

If eligible, the NRC also assists clients to enroll in Medicaid, Child Health Plus and Family Health Plus on-site.

The NRC provides free, short-term crisis counseling services. Individual crisis counseling at the NRC is available by appointment or walk-in. This service is provided by a certified social worker. Referrals for ongoing mental health counseling and psychiatric services are made to Henry Street Settlement's mental health clinic, the Community Consultation Center.

An experienced multi-lingual/multi-ethnic staff that speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish, Italian and English provides all services. NRC referrals are accepted from within Henry Street Settlement as well as self-referrals from the community for people who live or work in the Lower East Side, Chinatown, Battery Park City and other parts of Manhattan south of 14th Street.
