Funded through the New York City Department for the Aging, the Good Companions Senior Center is a multi-lingual and multi-cultural center that has been serving the needs of the Lower East Side’s senior community for over sixty years by offering a variety of activities and social services. Incorporating a unique wellness model, the heart of the Center is the Good Companions nutrition program, which provides important nutritional information to enhance the health of seniors, and also offers affordable hot lunches that cater to the enormous ethnic diversity of the Lower East Side's senior population. The Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
