The Home Planning Workshop is closed. Please stay tuned for more information about re-opening.

The Home Planning Workshop is one of Henry Street Settlement’s longest-running programs. Located at 359 Madison Street, the Workshop gives neighbors the space, tools and camaraderie they need to work on sewing, knitting and crocheting projects. Resources include sewing machines, fabrics and notions — and more importantly, the expert advice and instruction of Ruth Taube who has been at the helm of the Home Planning Workshop since 1966. Under her tutelage, all manner of sewing and design projects — wedding gowns, winter coats, bedspreads, baby sweaters and much more — have been created by participants who drop in to the Workshop.

Individuals of all levels (from beginner to expert) can receive sewing, knitting and crocheting instruction at no cost.
