Community Vigil to Save Rivington House

Join Henry Street Settlement, United Neighborhood Houses, and Neighbors to Save Rivington House at Hands Around Our House—an action to protest the construction of luxury condos in this former nursing home.
More than three years ago, developers acquired the former health and social services provider for people with AIDS and are moving ahead with plans to turn it into high-price apartments.
The controversial project has riled community members, who say that deed restrictions were improperly lifted on the building, which was intended to be operated as a nonprofit and a health care facility. The change in the building’s status prompted a 2016 City Council bill that increases transparency and oversight in modifying deed restrictions.
