Older Adult Services

Henry Street offers a wide variety of programs designed to promote the independence and well-being among the growing population of culturally diverse older adults on the Lower East Side. All older adult services are free of charge and available in Spanish, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), and English.
  • Older Adult Center

    Henry Street Settlement Older Adult Center is a multi-lingual and multi-cultural center that has been serving the needs of the Lower East Side’s senior community since 1952 by offering a variety of activities, meals, and social services.

  • Meals on Wheels

    Henry Street’s Meals on Wheels (Healthy Senior Select) program delivers fresh and frozen meals to more than 1,300 eligible homebound Manhattan residents every day to help them stay healthy and independent in their homes and communities.

  • NORC/Valdeck Cares

    The Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) program provides social work, nursing services and case management to residents of the Vladeck Houses who are 60 years and older.

  • Senior Companion Program

    Senior Companions are healthy older adults who volunteer to assist homebound or isolated fellow seniors live independently.
