Thank you for visiting our volunteer page! As Henry Street and the rest of the world continue to adjust to a “new normal,” we are committed to making sure that our doors are always open to those who need our services. Volunteers are central to the effort to ensure that we meet our programs needs and goals as we continue to address the humanitarian crisis that has arisen during the pandemic. Henry Street offers a variety of volunteer opportunities; please read on for specifics!

Please note all volunteers will be required to attend a virtual orientation prior to volunteering. Orientations occur on the 3rd Monday of every month from 5:00pm-5:30pm via Zoom. Once you sign up, a team member will contact you in 3-5 business days with an invite to the next available orientation.

Meals on Wheels
Henry Street’s Healthy Seniors Select Meals on Wheels program delivers approximately 1,000 fresh and frozen meals every weekday to homebound Manhattan residents to help them stay healthy and independent in their own homes. This program is vitally important because many seniors have little to no access to nutritious meals. They are often too frail or have health complications that prevent them from preparing meals for themselves or from using Henry Street’s Good Companions Senior Center where lunch and dinner are served on-site.
