2025 TCS New York City Marathon

Henry Street is proud to be an official charity partner of the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon! Team Henry will be running in support of over nearly 50,000 New Yorkers who depend on the Settlement’s programs for the arts, health care, education, employment help, and shelter.

Meet Team Henry for 2025

Abbe Lubell
Abbe has been living and running in Brooklyn since the mid-1980s. She raised two wonderful daughters and had a career in jewelry and product design, but she is now a full-time painter. She took a break from running for several years prior to COVID, but started again during the pandemic as a way to maintain her mental and physical health. Over the past few years, she has run several half marathons, but this will be her first full marathon. As a lifelong New Yorker, she couldn’t imagine running her first marathon anywhere other than New York City.

Daphne Mandell
After years of being a spectator, Daphne is thrilled to be running the NYC Marathon for the first time. She’s especially excited to run alongside her brothers and cousin on behalf of Henry Street, in honor of their great-grandmother Ruth, who led the HSS Home Planning Workshop for nearly 60 years. Since Ruth has been running circles around Manhattan for over a century, it’s only fitting that Daphne honors her by training and racing in the city they both love.

Justin Mandell
A former resident of the Lower East Side, Justin is thrilled to represent Henry Street alongside two of his siblings and his cousin. His Grandma Ruth left an indelible mark on the organization through her sewing classes and passed down her passion through generations. Justin feels deeply honored to carry on her legacy by running the NYC Marathon on behalf of Henry Street.

Kyle Mandell
Originally from Westchester, Kyle is excited to be running the NYC Marathon for Henry Street, alongside two of his siblings and his cousin. He grew up visiting his great-grandma Ruth’s sewing classes at Henry Street and is proud to honor both her legacy and the organization’s impact by running for Team Henry.

Natacha Garcia
Natacha is the Manager of People Operations at Henry Street Settlement. She ran the NYC Marathon in 2019 and 2022, and she’s thrilled to take on the challenge again this year. Natacha is running to raise awareness about the incredible work Henry Street does and to help generate support for its programs. Her best marathon time is 4:34, and she’s aiming to beat it!

Sophie Dorst
Sophie started running, just as many others did, during the COVID-19 pandemic. She found a love for the sport and hasn’t stopped running since. Running the NYC marathon has been a bucket list item for her for years. She is so excited to participate this year with her cousins, and to represent Team Henry where her great grandmother worked for many years.

Thinking of joining Team Henry in 2026?

Fundraising Commitments:

Each runner must raise $3,000 by Sunday, November 3, 2025 (the day of the marathon). Unfortunately, NYRR does not allow runners to combine campaigns, which means anyone who raises more than $3,000 can’t make up for a team member who doesn’t meet the minimum.

Race registration fees: This is the fee that you must pay to New York Road Runners, the organization that produces the race.

  • $255 for NYRR members
  • $315 for non-NYRR members
