In partnership with Stacks+Joules, the Building Automation Systems Training program is structured around three core areas: (1) lighting controls and an introduction to the Python coding language; (2) heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and heat pump fundamentals; and (3) systems integration using Niagara 4 software.

This comprehensive curriculum equips participants with in-demand technical skills for careers in building automation and indoor environmental management, supported by integrated professional development, job readiness training, and wraparound supports. Participants have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications, including the Lighting Controls Association (LCA) credential and the EPA 608 Universal Technician certification. This project- and strengths-based approach aligns with Henry Street Settlement’s mission to recognize and develop local, untapped talent while building pathways into high-growth technology and clean energy sectors.
