Henry Street Settlement opens doors of opportunity for Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social services, arts, and health care programs.
Buy A Brick. Build A Future.
Name a brick in our 140 year old firehouse and leave a lasting impact on the future of our city.
On November 10th, 2017 Henry Street broke ground on Henry Street’s newly acquired firehouse, adjacent to our headquarters. Opening in fall 2019, the Dale Jones Burch Neighborhood Resource Center will house our Neighborhood Resource Center and our Parent Center, where community members can access free legal and financial counseling, benefits screening and enrollment in food stamps and affordable health insurance, as well as a variety of free parenting workshops and classes. Traditionally an anchor for the community, the firehouse will again play the role of ‘first responder’ for families in crisis.
Our Buy a Brick campaign allows our community to become part of the brick and mortar of the building with a personalized brick inside the firehouse. Each brick will have a plaque with your chosen message and each brick can have up to three lines of text with up to 18 characters per line including spaces. Text such as “In Memory of” and “In Honor of” are included in the character count. The brick donor levels will be organized by color on the right wall entrance in the firehouse.
