Henry Street Settlement opens doors of opportunity for Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social services, arts, and health care programs.
Buy A Brick. Build A Future.
Name a brick in our 140 year old firehouse and leave a lasting impact on the future of our city.
On November 10th, 2017 Henry Street broke ground on Henry Street’s newly acquired firehouse, adjacent to our headquarters. Our goal is to transform the firehouse into a new “front door” that New Yorkers in need can open to access our new Dale Jones Burch Neighborhood Resource Center and our Parent Center among other resources.
Our construction team is hard at work renovating the space, but you can still contribute to this bright new future for New Yorkers too. You can become a part of the brick and mortar of the building with a personalized brick inside the firehouse.
The fire station had been a first responder in our neighborhood for 140 years — help us transform it into a different kind of first responder and continue its legacy of service.
Each brick will have a plaque with your chosen message. Each brick can have up to three lines of text with up to 18 characters per line including spaces. Text such as “In Memory of” and “In Honor of” are included in the character count.
The exact placement of all bricks is to be determined, but they will be the wall on the right side of the lobby when you enter the Firehouse. The bricks will be organized by donation level and we will be following up with donors on the exact placement of the bricks during construction.
