Henry Street Settlement opens doors of opportunity for Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social services, arts, and health care programs.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of Henry Street’s programs for Seniors have moved online. Please contact each program to learn more.
Henry Street offers a wide variety of programs designed to promote the independence and well being among the growing population of culturally diverse seniors on the Lower East Side. Many of our elderly neighbors are frail and vulnerable, and isolated because of low-income, a limited ability to speak English and a reluctance to seek the assistance to which they are entitled. All senior services are free of charge and available in Spanish, Chinese, and English.
Among the services offered for seniors at Henry Street are NORC/Vladeck Cares, Healthy Senior Select Meals on Wheels, the Henry Street Settlement Senior Center, the Senior Companion Program and the Center for Active and Successful Aging (CASA).
