Azim Djuraev

Azim has been living in New York since 2016 and in the Lower East Side since 2021. He picked up running during COVID and loves to run around the city. He is thrilled for the opportunity to run the NYC marathon for the first time, especially while representing Team Henry and the amazing work it does for the community.

Amy Eydman

Amy was born and raised in New York City and is currently a college student passionate about community impact and personal growth. She was introduced to Henry Street Settlement last year and quickly connected with its mission, especially its commitment to accessible mental health resources. After initially turning to running to stay active, Amy found it became a powerful outlet that taught her discipline and confidence. Inspired by her parents, she completed her first half marathon last year and is excited to run another this year with her younger sister. Following her experience volunteering at the NYC Marathon last year, running through all five boroughs has become a meaningful personal goal.

Cassandre Michel

A New York native, Cassandre was born in Brooklyn and raised in Elmont, Long Island, and has been with the Carmel Hill Fund for over 20 years, supporting work focused on youth literacy and youth mental health. In her role, the Fund has proudly partnered with Henry Street Settlement since 2023, supporting their youth-based programs—work that is very close to her heart. As a mother of four, Cassandre is deeply inspired by the belief that every child deserves support, opportunity, and a strong community behind them. After focusing on her health and wellness journey, running the NYC Marathon has become a meaningful bucket list goal, and she is excited to take on this personal challenge while proudly supporting Team Henry along the way.

Heather Neiman

Heather grew up in Westchester, New York, and was introduced to Henry Street at a young age through her father Richard’s involvement with the organization. His connection to Henry Street traces back to family roots in the Lower East Side immigrant community that the Settlement has served for over a century. In high school, Heather worked at the Abrons Arts Center summer camp, seeing the impact of Henry Street’s arts programs on the neighborhood. This will be Heather’s second New York Marathon, and she’s proud to run for Team Henry in 2026.

Claire Obeck

Claire Obeck

Originally from Tampa, Florida, Claire has been a spectator at the NYC Marathon ever since moving to Manhattan almost 4 years ago. She is beyond excited to have the chance to participate this year as part of Team Henry! Claire works as a pediatric nurse practitioner for Ryan Health in the Lower East Side, where she has had the privilege of collaborating closely with Henry Street Settlement to help connect patients and families with various services and resources. She has seen firsthand how Henry Street has helped improve the lives of her patients and their family members, so fundraising to help Henry Street continue their mission of serving the Lower East Side community will be deeply meaningful to her. She cannot wait to run her first ever marathon!

Ksenija Scahill

Ksenija Scahill

As a longtime Brooklynite and native New Yorker, Ksenija grew up watching the NYC marathon and cheering from the sidelines. This year she looks forward to participating on the other side of the barricade with her best friend (and fellow first-time marathoner) Emma and running in support of all of the good work done by Henry Street Settlement.

Emma Thiesen

Emma Thiesen

Emma is a 4th grade public school teacher in Brooklyn. She wouldn’t necessarily call herself a runner, but she loves a challenge and is super excited to be part of Team Henry for her first marathon. She is also very grateful to run the NYC marathon with Ksenija, her best friend and reason for living in the city.

Adam Varano

Adam Varano

Adam is excited to be running with Team Henry for a second time in support of Henry Street’s mission! Having previously run the NYC Marathon in 2024, he’s excited to relive the energy and hopes to beat his time by 34 seconds (the wildly small gap between him and his goal time!). When he’s not training, he works on the People + Culture team at SiriusXM. Adam lives in Brooklyn with his wife and an abundance of houseplants.

Arabella Walley

Arabella Walley

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Arabella has been a spectator of the New York City Marathon since she was a child. Inspired by the energy of the crowds and the determination of each runner, she began running after college and is now taking on her first marathon. Through her work in housing and migrant support services, she saw firsthand the impact of Henry Street Settlement and is deeply honored to support its mission while running through the city she calls home.

Thank you to our runners for being a part of Team Henry 2026 and strengthening our Lower East Side community with each mile.

Thinking of joining Team Henry in 2027?

Fundraising Commitments:

Each runner must raise $3,500 by Sunday, November 7, 2027 (the day of the marathon). Unfortunately, NYRR does not allow runners to combine campaigns, which means anyone who raises more than $3,500 can’t make up for a team member who doesn’t meet the minimum.

Perks of joining #TeamHenryTCSNYC:

  • Making a difference: Your run and fundraising campaign will support our vital and impactful programs for individuals and families in need. Way to add meaning to your miles!
  • We’re fun! You’re joining an awesome community of like-minded runners who want to support a local charity.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Come volunteer at Henry Street with your fellow runners and see firsthand the impact that you will make.
  • Special Events: As a part of Team Henry, you’ll receive complimentary tickets to some of Henry Street’s exclusive special events.
