Henry Street Settlement opens doors of opportunity for Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social services, arts, and health care programs.
Fee-Based After-School Services
Henry Street Settlement offers four fee based after-school programs to elementary age students in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Our fee based program model can assist families in a number of ways, including offering a smaller after-school program setting, a more individualized after-school schedule, or providing after-school care while children are on a waiting list for another program. Our programs are located at Youth in Unity at Manhattan Charter School and Manhattan Charter School 2.
Although each program is located in a different building with a site-specific program design, they all operate holistically as part of the Henry Street settlement after-school unit. All fee based programs participate in the same holiday events, special presentations, trips and other department-wide activities as our other after-school programs. Our programs operate Monday- Friday from the time school dismisses until 5:30p.m. The programs follow a 3 cycle theme:
Cycle 1: Citizen Explorers (October 2ns to December 21st)
Cycle 2: Innovative Scholars (January 2nd to Mach 23rd)
Cycle 3: Active Futurist (March 26th to June 15th)
Each program provides an array of quality- driven educational and recreational activities, which allows each participant to explore his or her interest, and be exposed to new activities.
If you are interested in registering for one of Henry Street Settlements fee based after-school programs or have any questions, please contact Aaron Cummings Jr, Director of After-School and Camp Services.
